Pro Cathedral Appeal for Unwanted Gifts

Before you start looking for the receipts to exchange unwanted presents from yesterday, why not put them to really good use, by supporting one of Dublin’s busiest homeless charities?

Staff at St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral in Dublin are urging people not to exchange unwanted Christmas gifts this week – but to donate them to Crosscare who will give them to those most in need, families, young people living on the margins of life in Dublin and the homeless.

Throughout 2019, unwanted gifts that were donated this time last year were distributed to families who spent time in Crosscare’s Family Hub in Drumcondra, when they were moving on to new accommodation. It meant that families had some extra luxury items to help decorate their new homes.  Unwanted gifts were also given out throughout the year to men and women in homeless services run by Crosscare who may not receive a birthday gift or treat during the year.

Staff at the Pro Cathedral wish to let the public know that they are available to take in unwanted gifts on the following dates and times. They also ask that people do not being food or non-perishable items.
