Parish History

Constituted in 1912 as a parish.  In 1618 Glasnevin became part of the Parish of Clontarf.  In 1879 the parish of Clontarf was divided by Archbishop McCabe.  Glasnevin and Ballymun became part of Fairview Parish.  In 1881, the wooden church was built at Glasnevin as a chapel of ease to Fairview.  In 1912 the parish of Glasnevin was created.
