History

Constituted in 1941 from Swords. The parish church, which dates back to 1837, was built in the new revised Gothic style on a site where a tiny thatched chapel was used for Mass in the early 13th century. In 1844 Archbishop of Dublin Dr Murray officiated at the dedication of the Church to St Sylvester.
