Parish Information
Parish HistoryThe St. Brigid’s Parish area was a centre or early Christianity, which led to an ancient church at Tully, dedicated to St. Brigid. Throughout the centuries of persecution and the Penal Laws priests were active from local hiding places. A 1687 baptismal note reads “Cabansheala” – (Sheila’s Cabin). The present church was built in 1836. The Parish celebrated its 175th anniversary on 10th October 2012.
